International (Online) Conference on Complex Networks

COMPLENET LIVE 2021

May 24-26 2021
#CompleNetLive21

About CompleNet and CompleNet Live

The International Conference on Complex Networks (CompleNet) brings together researchers and practitioners from diverse disciplines working on areas related to complex networks. CompleNet has been an active conference since 2009. In the last couple of years, we have been forced to hold the event online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this being online, we believe the maintenance of the event still plays a vital role to the Complex Networks (Network Science) by enabling researchers in the field to participate in events with like-minded researchers.

Over the past two decades we have witnessed an exponential increase in the number of publications and research centers dedicated to this field. From biological systems to computer science, from technical to informational networks, from economic to social systems, complex networks are becoming pervasive for dozens of applications. It is the interdisciplinary nature of complex networks that CompleNet aims to capture and celebrate.

The CompleNet conference is one of the most cherished events by scientists in our field. Maybe it is because of its motivating format, consisting on all plenary sessions; or maybe the reason is that it finds the perfect balance between young and senior participation; or maybe it is just the quality of the work presented. Whatever your reason is, we hope that you will join us in the 2021 Online Event. Welcome to CompleNet Live 2021

Why Have an Online Event?

CompleNet is one of the well established events in the area of Complex Networks (aka Network Science) and has been running continuously since 2009. When the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and travel became all but impossible, we had to make a decision to either put CompleNet on hold until we return to normalcy or make it an online event only. After some discussion we understood that the community would still benefit from having an event such as CompleNet. Last year (2020) we organised a small version of the planned 2020 face-to-face event which had to be cancelled. The 2020 CompleNet Live was small but well received. The goal then was to given authors of papers a chance to present their work given their work was already published when we had to make a decision to cancel CompleNet 2020.

This year, we hope to have an event which better resembles the experience people got used to at CompleNet: a high-quality, small, focused, single track plenary conference. Thanks to the generous contribution of our sponsors and a grant support from the US Army Research Office, we're planning a larger endeavour with a better online experience.

We would like to thank the support of the following organizations:
